Warranty Assurance:

Thank you for choosing The Plank as your preferred provider of interior solutions. We appreciate your trust and value your satisfaction. This warranty Document outlines the policies, terms, and conditions that safeguard your interests as our esteemed customer during the post-installation phase. Rest assured, The Plank is committed to providing you with the best products and services, and this warranty is our assurance of worry-free interiors.

Application and Scope:

  • The Plank" warrants that all components manufactured and installed by us will be free of defects in materials and workmanship when subjected to normal residential use.
  • This warranty applies only to complete project where The Plank has supplied the materials and executed the jobs. It does not cover projects where the jobs are executed with customer- provided materials.
  • For all warranty-related inquiries and claims, please contact us via only email at customersupport@theplank.in. Our dedicated customer support team will promptly assist you and guide you through the warranty claim process.
  • This warranty does not cover:
    • Damages or deterioration of the warrantied goods due to normal wear and tear.
    • Damage or deterioration of the warrantied goods due to exposure to elements or acts of nature, including water, fire, or sunlight.
    • Damages or deterioration of the warrantied goods caused by any correction, alteration, or modification by any unauthorized person.
  • The warranty will become void if:
    • The product is moved from its original installation location.
    • The warranty has expired based on the terms and conditions outlined in this warranty
    • document.

Duration of the warranty:

The maximum duration of the warranty for any component or accessory shall not exceed 10 years from the date of installation. Please refer to the specific warranty duration for each component and accessory listed below.

Changes to Terms of Warranty:

The Plank reserves the right to change, modify, or alter the terms and scope of the warranty or the specifications of the items covered by the warranty to align with the continuous evaluation and improvement of our products.

Repairs and Replacements:

Any repairs or replacements approved by the warranty terms will follow the style and construction options adopted by The Plank at the time of fulfilling the warranty claim. If a claim is filed after a product is discontinued or becomes obsolete, replacement of the product or component will be done based on the available style at the time of the claim.

Notification Time:

Any defects, damages, or malfunctions of the components must be notified to The Plank via email within 10 days of discovery. Please include relevant photographs, purchase information, and a detailed description of the issue to facilitate a timely resolution.

Resolution Process:

  • Upon receiving the notification, The Plank will evaluate the claim and determine the appropriate course of action.
    • The Plank reserves the right to inspect the warrantied goods before making a decision regarding repair, replacement, or reimbursement.
      • If repairs are deemed necessary, The Plank will either repair the item on-site or, if required, transport it to the factory for repairs.
        • The Plank will make reasonable efforts to complete the repairs or replacements within a reasonable timeframe.

Liability:

The Plank's liability under this warranty is limited to the original purchase price of the product or the cost of any replacement provided. The Plank shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from the use or inability to use the warrantied goods.

Specific Warranty Terms:

Painting Works: (6months from the date of installation)

If any defect is found in the painting works done by us during the inspection by The Plank’s representative, it will be rectified in accordance with the following terms. The Plank’s warranty on painting works will apply only under the following conditions:

  • The painted surface in Quote must be not less than 500sft.
  • The Plank will arrange to provide the replacement paint as per the paint code (the customer is expected to provide the paint code) provided the manufacturer has not discontinued the given shade as per the code.

To be treated as paint failure, the following symptoms are necessary

  • Flaking and peeling of the paint, one or multiple coats coming off from one another or from the substrate
  • Fading of the color shade
  • Fungus and algae growth on the wall surface which is noticed over a minimum of 10 square feet
  • To cover under warranty, the customer must have implemented the entire paint system recommended and executed by The Plank including an undercoat of primer, two coats of putty and 2 to 3 coats of paint on all surfaces.

Exclusions to Warranty Coverage:

  • Intermittent dripping of water on the painted surface due to air conditioning units or other water sources like potted plants
  • Continuous dampness of the surface due to causes including water penetration due to capillary rise from the ground level, any kind of leakage or seeping
  • Defects in painting due to structural or surface failure
  • The customer has carried out some rework or fitting work after handover Damage to painted surface due to fire, exposure to excessive heat, corrosive materials, and abrasive materials.

The replacement cost will include the cost of paint and labor charges to set right the areawhere paint failure is found at the time of making the claim.

In coastal areas, chalking and fading is a common feature in all painted surfaces. Within normal limits, such occurrences cannot be considered as painting failure

Gypsum False Ceiling Works:(6months from the date of installation)

If any defect is found in the gypsum false ceiling works done by us during the inspection by The Plank’s representative, it will be rectified in accordance with the following terms.

The Plank’s warranty on gypsum false ceiling works will apply only under the following conditions:

  • The gypsum false ceiling surface must not be less than 250 sft.
  • The warranty will cover the repair works and painting may be necessary to rectify the failure of false ceiling in the affected portion only

To be treated as false ceiling failure, the following symptoms are necessary

  • Failure of board integrity, peeling or flaking of the joint compound or the joint compound coming off the substrate
  • Cracks on the surface
  • To cover under warranty, the customer must have implemented the entire false ceiling system recommended and executed by The Plank.
  • Exclusions to Warranty Coverage:

    • Intermittent dripping or dampness of water on the false ceiling surface due to air conditioning units or other water sources
    • Physical damage to the false ceiling surface caused by some external entity or force
    • Defects arising due to failure of the structure to which the ceiling is anchored
    • Damage to false ceiling surface due to fire, exposure to excessive heat, corrosive materials, and abrasive materials
    • The customer has carried out some rework or fitting work after handover
    • Fungus and algae growth on the false ceiling surface
    • In coastal areas, chalking and fading is a common feature in all false ceiling surfaces. Within normal limits, such occurrences cannot be considered as false ceiling failure

Electrical Works: (1-year Period from the date of purchasing / original Manufacturing Warranty)

The Plank is the Brand which is managed by the legal name Shapez N Designs

If any defect is found in the electrical works done by us during the inspection by The Plank’s representative, it will be rectified in accordance with the following terms.

  • The Plank warrants electrical works if the materials and installation have been executed by The Plank.
    • The electrical works have been maintained according to general electrical maintenance.
      • The Plank is notified of the electrical failure within the warranty period.
        • The Plank will arrange to replace provided the material is not discontinued by the manufacturer. The warranty cover will also include the labor charges to rectify the issue as necessary
        • To be treated as electrical failure, the following symptoms are necessary
          • Electrical short circuit/ tripping.
          • Loose contacts in the plugs/ switches.
          • Exclusions to Warranty Coverage:

            • Improper power input to the mains. 
            • Penetration of water into the electrical
            • lines or the circuit components due to capillary rise from the ground level or
            • water leakage or water seeping or continuous dampness of the surface
            • Any physical damage caused to the wires, conduits, plates and switches
            • Any issues noticed in the power input source  
            • Any repairs to the electrical works attempted by people other than those recommended by The Plank
            • Any inappropriate use of the electrical points and appliances

Plumbing Works: (30 days Period from the date of installation / original Manufacturing Warranty)

If any defect is found in the plumbing works done by us during the inspection by The Plank’s representative, it will be rectified in accordance with the following terms:

Eligibility:

  • The overall value of the plumbing works carried out must be not less than Rs. 30,000.
  • The warranty covers defects in the plumbing or sanitary pipes installed by The Plank.
  • Plumbing fixtures such as taps, faucets, nozzles, water closets, showers, and angle valves are not covered under this warranty.

Conditions for Warranty Coverage:

  • The customer must have implemented the entire plumbing works as recommended and executed by The Plank.
  • The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the plumbing or sanitary pipes installed by The Plank and leakage in plumbing or sanitary pipelines.

Exclusions to Warranty Coverage:

This warranty does not cover defects arising from the following factors:

  • Improper quality of water.
  • Physical damage or mishandling of the plumbing system or its components.
  • Contact with any contaminants.
  • Any repairs to the plumbing works attempted by individuals other than those recommended by The Plank.

Maintenance Instructions for Plumbing Works:

To keep the warranty in effect, follow these maintenance instructions:

  • Do not use strong soaps, abrasives, detergents, or self-polishing waxes on your plumbing works
  • Avoid exposure of the plumbing system to extreme heat.
  • Maintain the recommended relative humidity of the indoor environment between 30% and 50%.
  • Follow any additional maintenance instructions provided by The Plank.

Fittings and Accessories – Warranty Terms:

Product Selection and Liability:

  • If the parts or components needed for replacement are unavailable, neither The Plank nor the manufacturer is liable for any repair or service delays.
  • Each branded product we use is accompanied by its own warranty certificate, which outlines the terms and conditions of the warranty provided by the brand. In the event of any issues or defects with the branded product, you can claim the warranty directly with the brand by following the instructions stated in the warranty certificate. This ensures that you receive the full benefits of the original brand warranty.

Replacement and Discontinued Models:

  • If the same model or color of the replacement is not available or discontinued by the manufacturer, an equivalent model or color will be provided.
  • The functional warranty of the kitchen hardware fittings will not be borne by The Plank or the manufacturer.

Cleaning and Care Guidelines for Fittings and Accessories:

To maintain functionality, aesthetics, and appearance, follow these guidelines:

  • Do not customize the installation of the product beyond The Plank's specifications.
  • Do not misuse or tamper with the product.
  • Clean the product only with a soft and dry cloth. Do not use wet cloth, water, or cleaning agents.

Upholstery

The upholstery fabrics and leather and fittings are not covered under our warranty. This is because the manufacturers of these materials do not guarantee or warranty them for the following specific properties:

Wearing Quality:

The wearing quality of upholstery fabrics and leather, including their durability and resistance to abrasion or damage caused by regular use, is not covered under our warranty. The performance of these materials may vary based on factors such as usage patterns, environmental conditions, and maintenance practices.

Color Fastness:

The color fastness of upholstery fabrics and leather, which refers to their ability to retain color without fading or bleeding when exposed to light, water, or other external factors, is not covered under our warranty. The colorfastness of these materials can vary depending on the specific dyeing process and individual manufacturer guidelines.

Fabric Shrinkage and Fiber Migration:

Fabric shrinkage, which is the reduction in size of upholstery fabrics due to moisture, heat, or other factors, and fiber migration, which is the movement of fibers within the fabric structure, are not covered under our warranty. These are inherent characteristics of certain fabrics and are beyond our control.

Pilling, Wrinkling, and Stretching:

Pilling, the formation of small fiber balls on the surface of fabrics, wrinkling, the appearance of creases or folds in fabrics, and stretching, the elongation or deformation of fabrics, are not covered under our warranty. These phenomena can occur due to factors such as fabric construction, usage, and maintenance.

How to care for your cabinets?

  • Clean the wooden parts regularly with a clean and damp cloth and dry immediately using a soft and dry cloth. Clean the laminated doors with a solution of mild soap and water and dry them immediately with a soft and dry cloth.
  • Never use strong soaps, abrasives, detergents or self-polishing waxes on your cabinets. Avoid using clothes that might contain any remnants of these cleaners. Dry off any water seen on the cabinet surfaces with a soft and dry cloth.
  •  Avoid any exposure of the cabinet doors and drawers to extreme heat. The relative humidity of the indoor environment must be between 30% and 50%. Cracking and splitting of may occur in cabinets under low or fluctuating humidity as is the case with any wood product.
  •  Clean the cabinet interiors with a clean and damp cloth and dry immediately with a soft and dry cloth. Use a soapy cloth to clean the laminated countertops. Use a non-abrasive liquid cleaner to remove stubborn stains. Do not expose the joints and seams of the countertops to water or wet cloths as excess water standing at the seams and joints may lead to delaminating or glue failure.
  • Do not place hot pans or activated electrical appliances on the laminated surfaces. Make use of protective insulating pads all the time. Do not allow abrasive cleaners or steel wood to remain on the surface for a long time.
  •  Use cutting boards to prevent any damage to surfaces. Due to new house settlement, fillers between countertops and walls may come off loose. This must be resealed with dap or silicone caulking.

Dispute Resolution:

In the event of any dispute arising out of or in connection with this warranty, both parties agree to follow the dispute resolution process specified below:

  • Prior to engaging in any arbitration or court process, both parties agree to complete an evaluation process as determined by The Plank.
  • All matters and facts connected to disputes or claims shall be kept confidential by both parties.

Please retain the Warranty document and provide it when filing a warranty claim. This warranty is valid only with the attached document of warranty
